For casual dining, eat at the breakfast table or step through to the stylish dining room, where you’ll find a table seating eight people. Two double bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, are also located on this floor, and all are furnished in a pleasant fashion with heavy drapes and plump cushions. They also have patio doors that lead out to the swimming pool. From the ground floor, the cool tones sweep upstairs to the first floor, where the remaining two bedrooms are located. Both rooms feature twin beds, and homely touches include ambient lighting, artwork on the walls and windows that offer up views of the surrounding pine trees. Each room also has a pristine en-suite bathroom. LOCATION DETAILS
Villa sits within the Aroeira Golf Resort, an exclusive resort surrounded by a magnificent pine forest and just a few minutes' drive from the Costa da Caparica coastline. The natural woodland adds to the tranquillity, and there are a number of walking trails for guests who want to explore the area on foot. If you're after more activity, there are two pristine 18-hole golf courses, plus tennis courts, restaurants, snack bars and a friendly clubhouse right on your doorstep. For a day at the beach, head to Praia da Fonte da Telha. Once a traditional fishing village, today it is known for its seafood restaurants and long, sandy beach. The beach is popular with the Portuguese and boasts crystal clear waters. It's also a good spot for surfing and kitesurfing, thanks to the favourable winds. If you fancy trying your hand at either sport, you can hire a board at the surf rental stores or book a lesson at the kitesurfing school. After a dip in the sea (the water is chilly, so be sure to wear a wetsuit), stroll to the town and feast on seafood specialities, including fresh sardines, clams, and garlic shrimp. The beach is backed by golden cliffs, and at the top of the cliffs, a coastal footpath heads both north and south. For a beautiful walk in nature, enjoy the 7km hike south to the freshwater lagoon, Lagoa de Albufeira, where you can swim in the warm shallow waters. Bird lovers can also head inland to the nearby marshes and while away a few hours spotting gulls, egrets and osprey. Fonte da Telha also lies within the Arriba Fossil Nature Reserve and is a tranquil place to explore with its foliage, wildlife and stunning views. Further attractions and historical sights can be found in Portugal's capital, Lisbon, a 30-minute drive from the villa.
