Description
In large enclosed gardens with cypresses, olive trees and summer lavender alongside a private swimming pool, this villa is an inviting holiday villa located only 1.5km from the charming town of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. The open plan living and dining space is bathed with light from the arched French windows leading to the gorgeous garden. A blend of traditional and contemporary furnishings adds to the villa’s characterful yet comfortable ambience and a modern kitchen gives guests everything they could need to prepare feasts for family or friends. Retreat to one of the four bedrooms, each simply yet gracefully styled with pretty touches throughout. Upstairs, the master suite has its own bathroom with an Italian shower and bath tub, two first-floor bedrooms share a modern shower room whilst downstairs there is another en suite bedroom allowing this fine villa to comfortably sleep up to 9 guests. Outside there is ample space across the private garden which is full of Provençal charm; relax beside the swimming pool or dine in the shade of the al-fresco terrace. Yet beyond the vast grounds there is so much to explore across the wonderful landscapes of Les Alpilles Regional Natural Park. Start off in Saint-Rémy, only a 5-minute drive away, with its restaurants, cafes, art galleries and Wednesday morning market which is not to be missed. Then there’s picture-perfect villages including Les Baux-de-Provence and Eygalières as well as pretty places to stop off for a leisurely lunch such as Paradou and Maussane-les-Alpilles, surrounded by endless olive groves. Walking, hiking, cycling and horse-riding are all great ways to admire the beautiful scenery in this part of Provence. Slightly further afield, follow Van Gogh’s footsteps in Arles, be mesmerised by the Camargue, drive to idyllic perched villages across the Luberon and peruse the famous markets in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage sites of nearby Avignon or spend the day in Nîmes with its amazingly preserved Roman ruins, perhaps combined with a picnic and canoe trip by the impressive Pont du Gard.
