Description
Set in its own green paradise, this villa offers easy access to many of the most loved places in Provence. The pretty farmhouse nestles in the foothills of Les Alpilles Natural Park, a landscape loved and painted by artist Vincent Van Gogh. The mountains provide a wonderful backdrop to an area renowned for its vistas of vineyards, olive groves, orchards, cypress hedges and seasonal swathes of sunflowers. This fine villa is situated just outside St-Rémy de Provence with restaurants, shops and everything you need nearby. There is plenty of space to entertain together or enjoy occasional solitude – indeed, the first floor annex has its own independent access! The farmhouse has a warm and cosy atmosphere with an eclectic mixture of furnishings, artwork and sculpture to enjoy. The shaded terrace beside the house will be the ideal place to relax with your glass of Côtes de Provence or you may prefer to immerse yourself in the outdoor jacuzzi for a spot of extra indulgence. The heated pool sparkles on the lawn opposite the hill and trees. St-Rémy is an idyllic village popular with its resident artists, many of whom display or sell their works in the local galleries. The town is also famous for its many restaurants, from down to earth bistros found on pretty narrow streets to Michelin starred establishments. Nearby Eygalières is one of the prettiest spots in Provence while Mollégès is also a charming village with narrow streets and ancient houses. Don’t miss the lively city of Avignon during your stay. Explore its winding medieval streets, visit the two UNESCO world heritage sites and Saint Benezet Bridge. Drive south west towards the wild horses of the Camargue to visit Arles with its incredible architecture and fascinating Roman remains. Or you may simply prefer to enjoy your wonderful villa and the beautiful countryside nearby. Keen hikers will enjoy being able to walk directly from the farmhouse and the whole of Les Alpilles provides opportunity for outdoor activities such as rock climbing, hiking, horse riding and mountain biking.
