Description
Most travelers arrive in Manuel Antonio expecting a postcard and instead find themselves in a glorious, humid collision of primary-color birds and monkeys with better social lives than ours. This villa, anchored firmly into the hillside where the rainforest literally attempts to reclaim the architecture, offers a vantage point that would make a seasoned navigator blush. From the terraces, you are looking straight at the jagged spine of Cathedral Point and the islands of the national park, a view that doesn't just sit there—it moves with the light, shifting from a bruised purple at dawn to a blinding, high-definition turquoise by noon. This is not some fragile, dainty structure; it is a sprawling, multi-level compound designed to handle the scale of the Pacific.
The design of this villa is refreshingly devoid of the usual high-gloss pretension. It favors warm local woods and textured stone that feel right under a pair of bare, salt-crusted feet. With ten massive suites, each boasting its own ocean-view balcony and private bathroom, the layout solves the age-old problem of traveling with a large crew. You can actually retreat from your fellow travelers without feeling like you’ve been exiled to a basement. Every square foot of the sleeping quarters is blasted with air conditioning, which you will appreciate after a day spent trekking the nearby park trails or getting humbled by the surf at Espadilla Beach.
The social heart of this villa is an infinity-edge pool that seems to spill directly into the canopy. It is the sort of place where hours disappear into the water while you watch white-faced monkeys perform acrobatic feats in the trees just a few feet away. For those who can’t sit still, there is a cinema for late-night screenings and a game room equipped with a pool table, foosball, and a wet bar that practically begs for a round of stiff drinks. There is even a private spa and a gym, though the real wellness here is found in the lack of logistics you have to manage.
Food is treated with the respect it deserves, with a private chef included to handle two meals a day. This is a game-changer. Instead of fighting for a table at a crowded bistro, you’re eating citrus-spiked local catch and gallo pinto on your own terrace while the forest provides a soundtrack of cicadas and distant waves. The service is quiet and efficient, leaving you to focus on the important stuff—like whether to take the short trip down to the beach or stay put and watch the sloths lose their daily race against the clock. This villa isn't trying to sell you a fantasy; it’s providing the space and the silence to let the wild reality of the Costa Rican coast do the heavy lifting.
