Enjoying unspoilt panoramic views of the Val Luretta and the surrounding hills in Emilia-Romagna, this fine villa is the perfect home for an Italian escape with your nearest and dearest. This beautifully decorated, historic dwelling offers numerous living and dining spaces, five suites and two bedrooms meaning there is plenty of space to accommodate 16-20 guests. This spacious home is laid over two floors and set within an ancient farmhouse and barn constructed from Piacenza stone. The buildings have been knocked together and extensively renovated recently, while the original terracotta tiles, wooden ceiling beams and stonework have been maintained. On the ground floor, you will find a large yet welcoming living room with comfy sofas, a grand piano and warm yellow tones. The living space continues into a formal dining room, a conservatory and a porch area. The porch space is an ideal spot where teens can gather together and play table tennis, table football and pinball games. There is also a billiards room and a PS3 games console here, meaning the kids should not get bored. Also on the ground floor is a well-equipped professional kitchen and a laundry room. The house boasts five suites all offering living spaces, bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms. One of these suites and a large double bedroom are set on the ground floor, while the remaining four suites and another double bedroom are set on the first floor. Each room offers a calm and relaxing colour palette and comfortable furnishings, so you will be assured of a good night's sleep, whichever room you have. If you need to work while away or fancy curling up with a good book, then retreat to the vast first-floor library, a tranquil space with a piano. Outdoors a green and fragrant garden envelops the home. Filled with lawns, shrubs and roses, the oasis-like garden blends seamlessly with the surrounding rural landscape and is an idyll where you can get away from the stresses of everyday life. Outdoors you can fire up the barbecue and dine al-fresco and swim in the private pool. There is also a full-sized tennis court and a trampoline within the grounds. While staying at this villa, guests can truly unwind. Breakfast will be prepared for you by the chefs and if you wish you can also book a lunch and dinner service. Extras such as cookery classes, private drivers, yoga classes, and grocery pickup can be arranged for you too. If you wish to dine out in the evening, the closest trattoria is just a 1km walk away, or you could drive to the pretty, historic town of Agazzano, which is 5.5km away. As well as being surrounded by charming villages and towns, the home is nestled amidst sweeping countryside and staggering valleys where you can enjoy bike rides, hikes and gentle country walks. You may also wish to try some of the local wines at a family run vineyard which are plentiful in this area. A little further afield is the gorgeous city of Piacenza, which is 21km away and packed with historical and cultural attractions from as far back as the Roman era, plus a great selection of shops and eateries. This spacious, skillfully renovated home is the perfect base for exploring the countryside, visiting charming villages and discovering ancient castles. The house enjoys an idyllic setting overlooking the Val Luretta, a small valley showcasing sleepy farmhouses, pasture land and the Luretta stream. This valley is sandwiched between two much larger valleys, the Val Trebbia and Val Tidone, offering guests abundant walking trails and routes for mountain biking with unrivalled views. The landscape is also home to many vineyards offering wine tastings and tours of the grounds and cellars. 21km away is La Stoppa Vineyard, which you can visit by appointment for an organised tour and a delicious tasting menu. Though the villa is rurally located, you can walk to a small village which is around 1km away from the home and boasts a lovely, traditional trattoria where you can dine on local dishes in the evening. For a broader range of cafes, restaurants and shops, you could visit Agazzano, which is 5.5km away. The small town is centred around a lively piazza lined with eateries ranging from traditional Italian restaurants to casual places where you can pick up a quick burger. The town's main attraction is the 13th-century Castle of Agazzano, originally used for defence before being extended and re-modelled in the 18th century. The castle is privately owned but is open for special events and tours on a Saturday when you can explore the medieval areas of the castle as well as the sumptuously decorated rooms, which were later added when the castle became home to the nobility. This castle is just one of 37 castles and manor homes which make up the Castelli del Ducato Circuit in the area. If you love exploring castles, you can get a card to visit all of them, including the circuit headquarters, the amazing Rocca Sanvitale in Parma which is 71km away. If you would like to visit a bustling city then why not spend the day in Piacenza, which is 21km away. Once used as a Roman military settlement in 200 BC, the city alongside the River Po is a great place to spend the day. The streets here are dotted with historic buildings from the early medieval era and beyond. Some of the main attractions include the impressive Palazzo Farnese hailing from the 14th century, and the Romanesque Cathedral of Piacenza. The palace covers five floors which you can explore, and also houses an art gallery and an archaeological museum, while the beautiful cathedral is filled with wooden carving and painted frescoes. The city also boasts plenty of shops and restaurants. This fine villa is also ideally located for heading into Milan for a day trip. Italy's second most populated city is set 97km away, meaning you can be there within 90 minutes. Milan is known for its historical buildings, art and culture, but is also a fast-paced modern city, so you will not be short of things to see and do. It is best to head over early to make the most of your day here.
