Description
This fine villa is a centuries-old Trulli, a typical cone-topped agricultural building found only in Puglia. This stunning home has been lovingly restored, meaning you can experience a holiday in this little piece of history while using all of the modern conveniences and comforts you could need for a relaxing break. Sleeping four guests in the bedrooms and with space for two children in the living area, this home is a flexible space suitable for a family trip or two couples travelling together. The villa is all set across one floor, and you will find the living spaces and bedrooms within the unique Trullo, which have beautiful, vaulted ceilings plus original stonework and beams. The living room winds around into the dining room, which opens onto the lovely garden, making the home flow nicely and creating a sociable space for coming together in the evenings over a meal or a few drinks. When you wish to turn in for the night, you can choose between two comfortable bedrooms, and two additional children can be accommodated on the sofa bed in the living room. Outdoors, the garden offers a serene spot to unwind in the sun, whether you wish to rustle up dinner on the barbecue, sunbathe on the terrace or take a refreshing dip in the private pool. The garden is also gated for your privacy and security. Although the villa sits in a semi-rural area, nestled amidst fields and olive groves, you are not isolated here, and the nearest amenities are a mere 3km away in the small town of Martina Franca. This town is picturesque, packed with incredible Baroque buildings and a maze-like, white-washed old town. You will find a great range of shops, cafés, bars and restaurants in town, plus the Basilica of San Martino and the gorgeous Ducal Palace, now a museum. As Puglia is known for its stunning whitewashed Trulli buildings, you may want to visit one of the villages and towns filled with these unique dwellings. Locorotondo is 10km away, Alberobello is 17km away, and both places are packed with Trulli as well as cafés, restaurants and artisan shops. There is lots to see and do in Locorotondo and Alberobello, but as both are relatively small and near each other, you could easily visit both on the same day. When you wish to head out of the charming towns and towards Puglia’s idyllic beaches, you will find a wide selection. The closest sandy beach is 27km away in Savelletri, or you could try the ancient town of Monopoli, which has some great beaches 36km away from the villa. Monopoli is just next door to the much-loved Polignano a Mare, which is also a brilliant place for a day trip as it is a 42km drive from the house.

LOCATION DETAILS
This villa is the perfect location for making the most of your time in Puglia. From the home, you can easily access both sides of the Salento peninsula, beaches, charming towns and wide open countryside. When you wish to go out for lunch or pick up a few groceries, you will be pleased to know that the closest town is just 3km away from the villa. Martina Franca is a gorgeous, walled town with a rich history. Here you can wander the picture-postcard streets lined with Baroque buildings, including some stunning churches and the ducal palace. The Baroque part of town gives way to an older area, a maze of tightly packed, whitewashed buildings filled with cafes and little shops leading out to busy town squares. There are plenty more villages and towns close to the villa; one little village you could visit is Cisternino which is 14km away. Cisternino is a character-filled place which offers incredible views over the Val D’Itria below and is also a great starting point for hikes into the surrounding hills. Cisternino is a small village, but there are many medieval buildings and delightful places to stop off for dinner. One much-loved local dish is barbecued meat prepared for you by the butcher; you can eat this hearty meal at a street-side café while enjoying the views. If you would like to visit a bustling city for the day, Ostuni, known as the white city, is a great option and is 26km away. Ostuni was constructed on a hilltop to protect its citizens from invaders and is still enclosed by historical walls. Booking on to a guided tour is a fantastic way to learn more about the city's long history and see hidden details you may otherwise miss. Some of Ostuni’s must-see attractions include the awe-inspiring Gothic cathedral, the civic museum, the brilliant archaeological park and the original medieval gateways. A top tip is to visit Ostuni in the late afternoon to dine al-fresco as the sun sets over the surrounding countryside and the sea. As well as incredible villages and towns, Puglia is also known for its wonderful beaches. There is a huge range of beaches to choose from within driving distance of the house; whether you enjoy swimming in a tiny rocky cove or would love to sip cocktails at an exclusive beach club, you will surely find a beach you like. Savelletri (27km away) is where you can find some of the closest beaches, a pretty port, and fantastic seafood eateries. If you would like to visit some of Italy’s most beautiful and most photographed beaches, then drive the 42km to Polignano a Mare. This elegant seaside town also boasts an atmospheric old town and world-class restaurants and bars.
