Whether this is your first visit to Palm Springs or you’ve spent your whole life here, we’re willing to bet that there are a couple of bucket list items you’ve yet to experience. While those items are, of course, intensely personal to each individual, we’ve gathered a list of some of the more exciting adventures that we think would fun and exhilarating to add.

How about a ride in a hot air balloon? Imagine seeing the mountains, the desert, and the valley laid out before you without the interference of a window. Contact the Fantasy Balloon Flights or Balloon Above for your spot.

For a different type of aviation experience, choose a ride in a real warplane, either a C-47 Skytrain or a P-51D Mustang. The Palm Springs Air Museum will take you there.

For those really, really brave souls, three nearby skydiving centers offer tandem jumps.

If you prefer your adventures on the ground, there’s plenty for you, too! If jumping out of a plane is a bit too much action for you, how would you enjoy a guided tour of a big cat sanctuary at the non-profit, volunteer-run Magic Jungle Wildlife Preserve? The 80-acre sanctuary in the Lucerne Valley is home to a number of animals rescued from zoos or stage shows.

Try your hand at a drum circle, said to be a soul-affirming experience, held twice monthly at different locations. If you’re looking for a way to get back in touch with both yourself and nature, a camping experience at Joshua Tree, National Park,Lake Cahuilla Veterans Regional Park or  Idyllwild Park may be the perfect respite to help you detox from our busy, electronic society.

Whatever you choose, and there’s so much more in the Palm Springs area, we hope it adds a new level of understanding and excitement to your life.
