Vibrant, festive, airy and private—with two separate living spaces on 1.3 acres of grounds—Villa Papillon (MDI) would be a wonderful place for a celebration. But simply being here is reason enough to celebrate.
You realize what a spectacular place this villa is before you even reach the end of the long driveway, which ascends through gardens of tropical plants and bright red, orange and pink flowers. The journey is one deeper into blissful seclusion, relaxation and increasingly sublime views over Gouverneur and Eustacia.
The views inside are enticing too, as the designer used a judicious hand while energizing the English decor with colors that match the flowers in the gardens: fuchsia cushions adorn the plump white couches, an oversize purple ottoman serves as a coffee table, and a bright ikat-style carpet runs through the different conversational or reading spaces in the large living area. The effect is quietly festive without ever being overwhelming. You just feel calm, Zen-like and happy to be here.
Off to the right of the living area is a brand-new gourmet kitchen with white maple cabinets, black marble counters, ample preparation areas and the latest appliances. (Though Sibarth can arrange for the island&'s best private chefs, should you not wish to cook.) The main villa also contains one bedroom with its own bathroom, dressing area and outdoor sitting area.
The floors throughout this main house were recently re-laid in pale oak boards that add warmth and informality. You want to be barefoot here. Outside, beneath a fringe of gingerbread molding, a terrace opens up to reveal a newly retiled infinity pool, shaded dining area with glass walls to protect it from the elements, and wide-angle views of the gardens and Caribbean.
Papillon is especially well suited to families with teenage or adult children, or groups of friends traveling together, because it has two more comfortable bedrooms in a separate, quiet house, with the same cheerful accents of magenta and orange, but in a private cottage that is set slightly away from the central spaces. Each has its own spacious bedroom with a big shower and double vanity, and they share a small kitchenette and dining area. Outside there is a wooden wraparound terrace and seating area, along with the tropical gardens. The villa has no shortage of spaces where you can be alone—or celebrating together with loved ones.
Sibarth Bespoke Villa Rentals is proud to offer its guests the festive, peaceful spirit and versatile layout of Papillon.
