Kona

Sunny Kona is on the Big Island of Hawaii. It is best known for its calm and clear water, that is perfect for swimming, snorkeling, diving and sailing. It is also a great spot from which to see dolphins and Hawaiian green sea turtles. And as all coffee aficionados know, Kona is also the home of wonderful coffee.

Luxury Kona Vacation Rentals

Regardless of the size of your luxury vacation home on Kona, you will find consistently high-end amenities. Expect a beautiful beach-front view and  a large furnished lanai from which to enjoy it with your morning coffee or afternoon cocktail. Other common outdoor amenities include private pools and hot tubs overlooking lushly landscaped lawns, outdoor kitchens and dining groups.

Indoors, you’ll find soaring ceilings, an abundance of natural light, gourmet kitchens and bedroom sanctuaries with spa baths. Living areas are furnished with the highest quality materials and make use of local artisans and stunning craftsmanship.

Activities/Dining

Visit Puuhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park. Located in South Kona and steeped in history, Puuhonua o Honaunau is a 180-acre national historic park. At different times, it was the home of royal grounds and also a place of refuge for ancient Hawaiian lawbreakers.

Kailua Village is a seaside town and the heart of the Kona coast. At one time, it was simply a sleepy fishing village, but is now a destination for shopping, dining and learning about the culture of the Hawaiian people.

Perhaps the most singular experience you can have on Kona is the Mauna Kea Summit Adventure. This is a trip in a 4x4 vehicle to the summit of Mauna Kea to be awed by the “beautiful and quite unearthly spectacle” of sunset at the summit. Dinner and stargazing follow.

For an upscale dining experience, try the Ulu Ocean Grill and Sushi Lounge at the Four Seasons Resort in Kailua-Kona, renowned for its farm to table ingredients and impeccable service. For a true Hawaiian meal in a casual atmosphere, head over to Da Poke Shack. Looking for a great breakfast? A Whale of a Crepe is known for fruit-filled crepes.
