Hanalei

Though the island of Kauai has hosted many movie sets,  one of the most famous was South Pacific, filmed in and around Hanalei in 1958.  More recently, the George Clooney movie The Descendants was filmed in Hanalei. This charming little town is, perhaps arguably, the hippest little place on Kauai. It's main street is lined with an eclectic mix of tourist stores, restaurants, cool little shops, coffee bars and shave ice stands, the last of which is part of Hawaii culture and absolutely not to be missed. Though only a few miles north, it's a world away from Princeville, home of upscale resorts, tony restaurants and designer boutiques. Hanalei has a very laid-back, "come as you are" attitude where a great day usually means catching some waves on Hanalei Bay.

Luxury Hanalei Vacation Homes

Our Hanalei holiday properties are a perfect blend of luxury appointments and the overall vibe of Hanalei.  Generous in size, they range from 3 bedrooms and 2 baths to 4 bedrooms and 4 baths. You'll enjoy features such as expansive lanais overlooking the mountains or the deep blue sea over vibrantly green lawns. You'll find airy and elegant living areas, oversized and fully stocked kitchens boasting chef-quality appliances and large center islands. Bedrooms are restful sanctuaries, with plush bedding and private sitting areas. Bathroom feature beautiful stone showers.

Things to See and Do

Just a couple of miles up the road is Ke’e Beach, located in Ha’ena. Here's you'll see the majestic beauty of the Na Pali Coast from a unique vantage point as you stroll down the long and largely unpopulated sandy shore.

Hanalei Bay & Pier is the stuff of Kauai legends and it's well worth the short trip. It's an ideal spot to take a romantic walk out on the pier and watch the sunset.

The Wai`oli Hui`ia Church holds much Hawaii history and is a beautiful, ethereal experience. Interestingly, the church was established in 1834 by American Christian Missionaries.

Restaurants in Hanalei are simple, but the food is good and hearty. Try a food truck for a new experience. Trucking Delicious and Pat's Taqueria are both popular choices. And, of course, the uniquely Hawaiian treat of shave ice at Jo Jo's simply cannot be missed.
